Jim Lahey, a big deal in the pizza world, gives his opinion on Domino's Pizza - It's not positive.
Lahey's "Company" is an artisan pizza place in Chelsea, New York and usually considered one of the best in the country. It's a type of restaurant that I wish there were more of in Cincinnati. Lahey, who had run a well-known bakery, uses a 900 degree oven and a little yeast/no-kneading process on the crust. That said I thought the pizza was merely good. When I was there we got four pizzas for the table. The crust was great (if a little chewy) and the ingredients were all high-quality. However, I didn't think the pizzas really worked - They weren't quite as good as the sum of their ingredients. There also just wasn't enough cheese, sauce, and toppings. The bread was very good, but it seemed like you were eating nice flatbread rather than pizza.
With the slow service, high prices, and with all the other good pizzerias in the area, I can't really recommend it. However, it certainly has some merit, and if you are in the area it may be worth a try.
